Global Deaf Muslim USA Materials

T-Shirt Design

Before the upcoming exhibition table, the GDM team decided to use t-shirts as promotional items. I was eager to design one that aligned with GDM's theme, so I chose to incorporate the word "SALAM," a broad Islamic term, along with the American Sign Language alphabet. My goal for this project is to create a design that is appealing and suitable for everyone, regardless of age or gender, to wear. I believe that function and appearance should work well together.

Brochure Design

I created a tri-fold brochure in InDesign with accurate margins and columns for proper printing and folding. I used visually compelling colors and geometric shapes to make the brochure attractive. For the front cover, I chose a picture of hands raised up, symbolizing applause in Deaf culture. This gesture is meaningful to the Deaf community and is connected to the purpose of the nonprofit organization.

Backdrop Stand Design

To enhance the appearance of the exhibition table, I designed the backdrop featuring GDM USA's logo as the central element to highlight GDM's mission statement. At the bottom, I included hands applauding in sign language to add a meaningful touch of "Deaf Culture."

Infographic Design for Social Media

For Deaf Awareness Month, GDM would like to share awareness about deaf community specifically deaf muslims. I created the template to align GDM's color branding and swipe-method slides for users to read through. This post demonstrated the concept of "how do deaf/hard of hearing muslims pray" with visually-leading with large text. It received over 500 likes and 169 shares which is a good way to spread the awareness among the community.
